This is a search for the wolf and its function as a projection screen for humans. In Brandenburg, Western Pomerania and the Apennines, the filmmakers follow the tracks laid by media reports. On their way they meet people, who tell their stories in the context of this large transnational search for the re-migrated wolf. The film is scored by the electro-acoustic musician Hainbach and emphasizes the searching motif.
